Since March 22, 2020, the laboratory of diagnostics for coronavirus infection (COVID-19) has started working in the GUZ "Regional Skin and Venereal Dispensary". The purpose of opening the second laboratory is to increase the availability of diagnostic tests for the detection of a new coronavirus infection. The modern equipment of the laboratory, the automation of technologies and the introduction of the laboratory information system (LIS) allow daily receiving material for research from medical organizations of the Lipetsk region.
The decision whether to test a patient for a coronavirus infection (COVID-19), hospitalization, or referral to an observator is made only by the attending physician. Citizens who are in self-isolation mode, the sampling of tests is carried out by specialists of the polyclinic at home.
On the basis of the laboratory of the GUZ "Regional Skin and Venereal Dispensary", a study of biomaterials from persons who arrived from Europe and other foreign countries (including transit), without symptoms of respiratory infection (healthy citizens) is carried out.
- "The research is carried out by the polymerase chain reaction method. This method is highly sensitive and highly accurate. It takes place in several stages: isolation, purification of the sample, accumulation and further determination of the antigen in the material. The material is smears from the pharynx and nose. The capacity of the laboratory allows you to conduct up to 100 studies per day. They look at 20 to 40 samples a day every day. And this is not the limit. If necessary, we are ready to withdraw the second team of specialists," said the chief doctor of the GUZ "OKVD" - Lyubov Sukhova.
The Health Department of the Lipetsk Region recalls that all persons arriving on the territory of the Russian Federation are required to report their arrival by calling the hotline 8-800-450-48-48 and be isolated for 14 days at home or in an observatory in accordance with the Resolution of the Chief State Sanitary Doctor of the Russian Federation No. 7 of March 18, 2020 "On ensuring isolation in order to prevent the spread of COVID-2019".
